Chelsea have identified Leicester’s Ben Chilwell as the club’s number one left-back target this summer.
Chilwell has four years left on his contract and Leicester have no pressure to sell the 23-year-old.
The defender has established himself as England’s first left-back since making his international debut against Switzerland in September 2018.
It will not be easy to persuade Lester to sell him. They have shown in the past that they will not bully or sell their players cheaply.
The Foxes are five points and one place above Chelsea in third place in the Premier League table and are on track to qualify for the Champions League.
Frank Lampard has wanted to sign the left-back since he became Chelsea’s manager last summer. The club is also keen to hear offers from Emerson and Marcos Alonso.
Alan McIntyre believes Arab Leipzig forward Timo Warner will fit well at Chelsea and says the player’s versatility will make him a huge asset at Stamford Bridge.
While other clubs have been slashing their transfer budgets, Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich is keen to support Lampard in signing the right new players for the transfer window this summer.
