USA Today High School Sports’ Friday night note Is A weekly high school football recruiting recap that looks at the latest news from around the country: from class 2022 to ’23 and beyond.
Arch Manning is the top quarterback of the 2023 class and the top overall recruiter Naturally, he gets the most attention in any class recruitment because of his high ranking, but also because of his name. There is a bevy of other elite signal-callers in the class who don’t get much love, though – even those who are five-star recruits.
Five-star USC committee member Malachi Nelson sits behind Manning in the rankings, and five-star Tennessee committee member Nicholas Imaleva is well-known at the moment. Who are the top irresistible quarterback prospects behind Manning?
Let’s dive deeper into everyone’s recruitment.

High school: Martin Luther King (Mitch.)
According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Moore is the No. 6 recruiter in the 2023 class. Notre Dame seems to be running as a favorite for the Detroit Native Landing at the moment, but its recruitment is not over yet. LSU, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State are all heavily involved with Moore. Will the urge to stay at home take Moore to Michigan or the state of Michigan? It’s possible, but Notre Dame likes where he is at the moment.
High school: Pittsburgh (California)
Rashada is a new five star recruit and his stock has been growing for some time. Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, UCLA, and Washington are all in the picture for Reshada’s landing. Pulling him off the west coast doesn’t seem like an impossible task because of his recent trip to Miami.
High school: Briarwood Christian (Ala.)
Offers keep coming for Vigina, as she now has more than 30 chances to play at the next level. Clemson, Florida, Notre Dame, Ole Miss and Tennessee are standing by Alabama locals who recently took an informal tour of local Auburn. The Tigers seem to be trying to get more involved with Vigina, whose latest Power 5 offer comes from the state of Ohio.
High school: Zachary (La.)
Holstein withdrew from his commitment to Texas A&M on March 18 and is again largely open to his appointments. Louisiana Native will be in Alabama for a private tour this weekend after visiting Tuscaloosa twice last month. It’s still a bit early, but Crimson Tide seems to be heading in the right direction to land in Holstein. He could be their 2023 quarterback if Manning ends up somewhere else.
High school: Brookwood (Ga.)
Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ohio State and South Carolina are currently among the programs in a good place to land Lonargan, who will be in Alabama for an informal tour this weekend. Lonargan has a chance to move up the list after a strong tour of Florida that gave him insight into the baseball program as a two-time athlete.
