Washington has already taken this road from Seattle with elite potential. Just last year, the Huskies saw five-star defensive lineman Jetty Tuimolou stay at Ohio State’s promised appointment instead of staying at home for a much longer period than Connery Jr.

There was also a valid reason for hiring Washington Conerley Jr. – probably the third after Oregon and the USC – so the Huskies would have been wondering what could have happened if it had been able to keep the top prospects in the state for a second time.
