The 9th edition of the Veterans Premier League (VPL), organized by the Kerala Veterans and Cricketers Association, was held on March 11, 12 and 13 in Alappuzha, Kerala in support of the Kerala Cricket Association. The VPL is an annual event organized and participated by Kerala Ranji Trophy and Junior State players with club cricketers consisting of 6 teams (JK’s Malabar Tigers, Malabar Warriors, Travancore Panthers, Absolute Sobers, Kochi Royals) and Team selection was conducted. By annual auction.

This year’s edition of VPL was special because KOC (Kerala Overseas Cricketers Forum) had 21 players and 3 of them were team owners and 2 were team captains and KOC players dominated the performance which gave them the value of 5 big tournaments. Biju Thomas is the highest run scorer with 186 runs and Vinan G Nair is the highest wicket taker with 9 wickets.

  • The title sponsors of this year’s VPL were UAE and UAE sponsorship with India-based shipping company Navio-Shipping (Jotun Paints, Colata Professional Chocolates, Grand Freight, Hash Tag Documentation Clearing Services & Baraccuda).

    Final Score: – Malabar Warriors scored 128/7 in 15 overs (Biju Thomas 58 *, Vinnan G. Nair 4-23) and JK’s Malabar Tigers 130/4 in 13.5 overs, (Arun Av 50 and Shivith 26 *) – Mother – Arun AV
